On the twelfth of June nineteen forty five it was Jacob John’s third birthday. His parents bought him a set of colours for his birthday. Jacob grabbed the colour set and took a pink pencil, and threw the rest of the colours out of the living room window. His parents punished him for throwing the set away.
The next day, he drew on the wall and his parents had to re-paint the walls. The day after that he drew a picture of a dog chasing a cat on the table. His parents punished him harshly for that.
A month later he started eating his pencil bit by bit. The pencil ended up covered with saliva. He then drew on his parent’s faces while they were sleeping. They were furious about that. The next day he ate his pencil and his parents were relieved because the pencil had cost them a lot of money and pain to get it off their faces.
I remember very clearly that it was a Wednesday. On that day we had a surprise from our teacher, Ms Farrugia. She told us that we were going to learn how to write in cursive writing. At that moment everyone’s face was shining with happiness. We were going to learn how to write like the grown ups.
So every Wednesday of the next few weeks, we were practising. First we made patterns using the letters. The girls were better than the boys and probably much neater too.
Unfortunately, the following year, Ms Paris did not continue teaching us how to write in cursive writing and now that I am in the second year of secondary school, I am still writing in single letters.
One fine day when I was in year 6, we had a special outing. We left school to go for a futsal tournament.
The teacher, Mr Borg chose 5 students to play in this tournament. He chose Alan as the goalkeeper, Ryan, Calvin, Kylie and finally me. The outing was going to be at the sports complex in Cospicua. We went there to have fun but also to win.
We had a great team. In this tournament there were a lot of competitors. This tournament lasted 5 hours. By the end we were very tired but we won all the matches that we played. We won the tournament because we had a lot of points.
When we got back at school the team members were praised by the headmaster of the school. I was praised for all that I had done to win the futsal tournament.
This is the best memory I have of year 6.
Illum mort il- Birgu. Kienet ġurnata sabiħa imma kienet naqra imsaħħba u kien hemm il- bard. Ix- xemx tgħammxek u tirrifletti fil- baħar fejn kien hemm ammont ta’ dgħajjes u jottijiet li ma tgħoddhomx. Il- baħar kien kalm daqs iż- żejt.
Fil- bogħod tista’ tara l- għasafar u s- sigar. Kien hemm ftit karozzi għaddejjin li bdew jiksru l- paci u bdew jaħsduni. Faċċata nista’ nara ir- restorant favorit tieghi li jismu ‘Cargo’. Illum magħluq għax qegħdin jibnu fuqu. Hdejh hemm ir- restorant ‘Tate’ fejn hemm xi nies jieklu barra. Kultant nara xi ajruplan jittajjar fis- sema. Nista’ nara s- swar u d- djar antiki tal-Birgu iddekorati b’ arkitettura ta’ żmien il- kavallieri. Fil- viċin nista’ nara xi pjanti u siġar li fl- opinjoni tiegħi ma jaqblux mal- post.
F’ ħalqi għandi t- togħma tal- ġelat li kont għadni kif kilt ftit minuti qabel. Bdejt niddejjaq għax kelli l- basket tal- iskola fuq dahri li kelli nġorru mill- iskola tiegħi sal- Fortini u beda’ jweġgħali dahri għax kelli ħafna affarijiet fih peress li ma nħalli xejn fil- ‘locker’ għax nibża’ li jkissruwuli u jisirqu kollox. Fil- Birgu ħassejtni kalm għax kien hemm ħafna paċi u skiet.
F’isem il-grupp tad-drama, aħna l-istudenti nixtiequ nirringrazzjaw lil kull min ħa ħsieb biex dan il-grupp iseħħ. Nistgħu ngħidu li f’dawn ix-xhur aħna sirna familja waħda u għamilna ħafna ħbieb. M’hemmx kliem biex nirringrazzajw lill-għalliema Ms Isabella li permezz tagħha għelibna dik il-mistħija li kellna fil-bidu li bdejna dan il-kors. Għadna niftakru l-ewwel ġurnata li ġejna għall-kors, konna mistħijin u ma konniex nafu lil xulxin minħabba li ġejjin minn skejjel differenti. Nagħmlu ħafna affarijiet biex inkunu nistgħu nieħdu gost u nistgħu nitgħallmu ħafna minnhom. Bħalissa qegħdin naħdmu fuq ir-rexta li kull sena ntellgħu fl-aħħar tal-proġett. F’din ir-rexta nkunu nistgħu nuru l-kapaċitajiet u l-abbiltajiet li ħadna mill-kors. Ukoll nistgħu ngħidu li permezz tad-drama sirna nafu iktar fuq id-drama. Aħna tad-drama nixtiequ ngħidu grazzi lil kull min ħa ħsieb biex ikun jista’ jittella’ dan il-proġett. Grazzi ħafna.
Luke and I went to Australia for the summer. Luke was 17 and I was 16. My name is Zendeya. We rented an apartment for the summer. When we arrived in Victoria, we slept because we were tired.
I had a crush on Luke since in the primary school we were very good friends.
One night we went near the beach in the moonlight , it was so romantic. Then he said to me,”I want to tell you something.
“I said, “Yes tell me, come on.”
He said, “You know what , I really love you very much and I did not have the courage to tell you.”
And in the silvery light of the moon we kissed and that’s a kiss I will never forget.
One fine Saturday morning in Liedna Street, Fgura, Jack and Farmsworth were playing basketball. A few minutes before they were at home feeling very bored; so they ran away to play a game. At one moment, Farmsworth, accidentally, threw the ball against the broken window of a run down house.
It was an old, dirty house which was mostly destroyed. Vandals usually went there to break things but they never came out. Its facade was dirty. It was said that some strange sounds could be heard coming from inside the house.
Jack and Farmsworth were two idiots who never thought before doing something; so they went in the house to get their ball, in spite of all the rumours they had heard. They found the ball, but they heard some strange sounds like the clattering of wood and the growling of wolves.
They decided to explore the house from top to bottom and after a while searching they discovered a huge room and went in. They saw a large, strangely shaped body facing the opposite direction in the corner. Jack and Farmsworth did things straight away. Quickly, they picked up two wooden planks from a broken door and charged at the body. It turned, revealing its horrifying face. Jack and Farmsworth smacked and stabbed the creature and it howled and growled in pain, showing its bloodstained, pointy teeth. It tripped backwards and Jack stabbed it in the stomach and dark-green blood squirted out, covering Jack. The creature ran away, throwing Jack to the ground. The plank was still plunged in its stomach.
They picked up some bones and skulls and went home where their mothers yelled and punished them harshly because they ran away from home. Both boys were covered in the creature’s blood, which their mothers thought was mud. When they told them the story, their mothers thought that they had made it up and didn’t believe that the creature existed in the house just round the corner.
